translucent pink eerily roseate shell
washed ashore from time-forsaken oceans
ringing with the ur-melody
of worlds that fell
caked layered oblivion concealing
the once silt-free glory of citadels
what cannot have been
used to be
once
aeons before time came to signify
the Nameless City's towers reared so high
proud brows defying the sun
till fire from the sky
accelerated time and
the vanity of god-spurning magicians
roused the Devourer from sleep
only dirt and dust
remember
the opal splendour of palaces
the rose song of prayer
